"I initially became involved with Second Alarmers in the early 1970's. I was a newlywed and my husband, Bill, had always been active in Community organizations like the Squad. He and I have always shared the believe that if you are blessed with a talent and knowledge that you should use those talents for the betterment of the Community in which you live and work."  

 

“I only have one night a week that I can give to EMS between work, school and my boyfriend.  I love the fact that opposed to other area squads where i just sat around a lot waiting for calls, at Second Alarmers I often get to see many calls each night.  Plus it's very hands on, crews always take the time to teach me new things all of which is very exciting to me!".

  

“I joined Second Alarmer's because I wanted to do something in my town and also learn new things and meet other people my age.  I am working on becoming an EMT and eventually want to become a firefighter paramedic and I will learn that stuff here."

 

“I grew up in fire and EMS in my home town.  When I relocated to the area I searched out who I thought would offer me the most challenging and fulfilling experience in the industry as a volunteer in the small amont of time that I was able to give each week.  I have been very impressed with the continual professionalism and progressiveness of the organization.  I am very proud to be a "Seccy".

 

 

Over the years, I have had the pleasure to be part of the Squad's growth and development. If truth be told, the reason I have continued my association with the Second Alarmers is I have learned so much about myself, life and people through the many years of experiences the Squad has afforded me.  Second Alarmers is a unique blend of talent and as an organization, has a true sense of family.
